Getting Started with your Boutique Teeth Whitening Kit

Before starting your tooth whitening treatment at Victoria Road Clinic, you will undergo a full dental examination. We recommend a dental scale and polish beforehand to ensure the best results.

To get started, brush your teeth as usual or as instructed by your dental hygienist. Load the whitening tray by placing a small bead on the front surface of the tray, halfway up the tooth surface.

Applying your whitening trays

To ensure maximum effectiveness, carefully place the whitening trays over the teeth and make sure they are firmly in place. Use gentle pressure on the front surface of each tooth to help disperse the gel evenly. It is important to let the trays stay in place for the recommended time to allow the whitening gel to work its magic. This will ensure that you get the best possible results and a brighter, more confident smile. Don’t forget to rinse your mouth and the trays thoroughly after use to remove any remaining gel and avoid any potential discomfort.

After wearing your trays

After removing any excess gel that may seep out of the edge of the tray with a tissue or soft toothbrush, it is important to rinse your mouth with water. Ensure that the gel does not get swallowed as it may cause discomfort in your stomach. Additionally, it is recommended that you avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after wearing your whitening trays to allow the gel to take full effect. You may also want to consider using a desensitizing gel or toothpaste if you experience any sensitivity after the whitening procedure.

How long do you wear whitening trays?

The recommended wear time for 6% hydrogen peroxide is 1.5 hours per day. For 6%, 10%, and 16% carbamide peroxide and hybrid pro, wear them for a minimum of 6 hours per day (overnight). Our most popular tooth whitening treatments are administered overnight to achieve optimal results with minimal sensitivity.

Caring for your custom tooth whitening kit

Once you have brushed your teeth, take the time to clean your whitening trays with cool water and a soft toothbrush. This will help to keep them free of bacteria and ensure that they remain effective for future use.
